News from the Mill
Workdays are held at the mill each Thursday, 10 am until 4 pm. During these days, the volunteers undertake the many tasks that are needed to keep the mill and grounds in a suitable state for future Open Days when visitors are able to visit the mill.

We are always willing to welcome volunteers who wish to assist on our work days or on Open Days.

Tasks that are undertaken are varied, ranging from repairs within the mill such as replacing broken drive belts powering various machines or replacing rotten floor boards, installing or rebuilding sections of poor quality walling, repainting the storage huts around the site, maintenance of the garden and grounds throughout the year, growing potted plants and garden produce for sale on Open Days or making a ladder and steps to improve access to the Sales Room storage area.

Examples of recent tasks include:

Protecting the banana plant growing in the mill garden from the winter weather.

Rebuilding the compost bins with new supporting posts at the corners of the bins.

Constructing a ladder and steps to improve access to the Sales Room storage area.
